Idol worship in Isaiah and an example of idol worship in Numbers. Isaiah 44 presents a fascinating scenario: a person takes a block of wood, uses part of it for a fire, and worships the other part of it as an idol. How can a person legitimately worship something like that as a god? That's what Israel was often guilty of doing, even going all the way back to their time in the wilderness in Numbers 11.
